Mrs. Maha Elsherif:
Mrs. Maha Elsherif has been working in Augusta Science Academy since its establishment in 2017. She earned her Master in Arts of Teaching (MAT) from Georgia Regents University in 2014. She is certified as a school teacher by the state of Georgia. She earned two B.A. degrees, Latin and Greek literature and also in Italian Language, from Ain-Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Sr. Maha has several years of work experience as an educator. She started her career in the Henrico County School System in Virginia, from 2008 until moving to Georgia in 2010. While she was earning her MAT degree, she had multiple internships in the Columbia County School System, from 2011 until 2014. After earning her teaching certification and prior to the foundation of the Augusta Science Academy, Sr. Maha also taught in the Columbia County School System from 2014 until 2017. Sr. Maha is currently the Principal and G2-4 Math Teacher.
Mrs. Enas Hassan:
Mrs. Enas Hassan is the kindergarten teacher. She also teaches Islamic Studies for Elementary Students. She has been working at ASA since its start in 2017. She is a graduate of Higher Institute of Cooperative Studies at Cairo University in 1992. She has earned her diploma in Educational Methodology with a major in Education from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Sr. Enas has taught math to second graders in Egypt after college for two years. In 2002, she began to teach at the Islamic Society of Augusta Weekend School and continues to teach until now. Sr. Enas has lived in Augusta for the past 21 years with her husband and their three children.
Ms. Merry Childers
Ms. Merry Beckham Childers is the elementary Social Studies & Language Arts teacher at Augusta Science Academy. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Augusta University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State University. Prior to joining ASA, Sr. Childers taught High School Social Sciences for 20 years in both Richmond and Columbia County schools. In addition to teaching school, Sr. Childers was a dance instructor and choreographer at the Augusta West Dance Studio for more than 20 years. Sr. Childers joined the wonderful team of educators at ASA during the academic year 2019-2020.
Ms. Walaa Nooreldeen
Ms. Walaa Nooreldeen is the G1 Homeroom Teacher at Augusta Science Academy. She has been working as an educator for over 15 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She is well versed in technology and likes to integrate technology in classroom to enrich classroom experience. She developed various Arabic curricula for different levels and different schools.
Ms. Menna Abo-Elhamd
Ms. Menna Abo-Elhamd is the KG & 2nd Grade, Language Arts & Social Studies teacher at Augusta Science Academy. She attended high school at Lakeside High School. She is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. From 2014 to 2016, Menna was involved in the Augusta Islamic Society’s Sunday School, in the capacity of both a teacher’s assistant and a teacher. During her free time, she enjoys working on art, writing, and watching television shows.
Mrs. Abeer Alrafati
Mrs. Abeer Alrafati is the Quran teacher for Elementary grades at Augusta Science Academy. She is a mother of two kids who has recently moved with her family from Maryland to Georgia . Mrs. Alrafati graduated from The University of Jordan with a degree in Economics. She has gained much of her experience as a teacher through teaching from kindergarten up to high school level .

Mrs. Sarah Jihad
Sarah Jihad is the Pre-K teacher at Augusta Science Academy. Sarah began working at ASA in 2021 as the KG assistant teacher and is thrilled to be a part of the ASA community. Sarah is a graduate of the Georgia Military College with a degree in Early Childhood Science Education. She has an array of experiences working with children between the ages of 3 and 7, both nationally and abroad. Besides working with children in a professional setting, she is a mother of four children between ages of 18 and 28. She is inspired daily by her husband and children. In her free time, she loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her family.

Mrs. Salwa Rizwan
Salwa Rizwan is the science teacher at Augusta Science Academy. Salwa began working at ASA in January 2023 and is thrilled to be apart of the ASA Community. Salwa has a Bachelor’s degree in science and education as well as a Master’s in Science.

Mrs. Neila Gharbi
Neila Gharbi is the KG Assistant Teacher at Augusta Science Academy. Neila began working at ASA in 2022 and is thrilled to be apart of the community. Neila has two associate degrees and has had training as an assistant in the Fort Gordon Child Youth Program.

Mrs. Amna El-Hag
Amna (Abeer) El-Hag is the Pre-K Assistant Teacher at Augusta Science Academy. Abeer has a bachelor’s degree from Sudan University and is currently in the process of receiving an MBA from Strayer University. She is the mother of two daughters in middle and high school.

Ms. Monae Holmes
Monae Holmes is the Physical education teacher at Augusta Science Academy. Monae attended Burke County high School. She is a recent graduate of Augusta University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Monae has been involved in the Augusta Islamic Society’s Sunday School, in the capacity of both a teacher’s assistant and a teacher since 2016. During her free time, she enjoys catching up on shows, creating art, reading, baking, and spending time with family.

Ms. Samia Ihsainia
Samia Ihsainia is the custodian at Augusta Science Academy.

Ms. Rawan Ahmed
Rawan Ahmed is the office manager at Augusta Science Academy. She graduated from Augusta University in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and is currently working on a masters degree for teaching elementary school. Rawan has been involved in the ISA’s Sunday school program as a teacher assistant as well as a teacher since 2016. During her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, watching shows and movies, traveling, and spending time with family.
